Elementals: They are beings of an unknown origin, but most believe that they are the result of an ancient force. These beings do have the same physical attributes as humans; although they differ slightly mentally because they are more connected to the force that many call Nature. It is also known that these beings have existed since before man kind and have learned well how to adapt into human society. Each Elemental differs in power, the strength of their abilities and the connection or bond that they have with Nature. The Elementals with the strongest bonds with nature and abilities are the ones that tend to live a long period of life and keep their youth; almost thought to be immortal. This kind of raw power is rare, so most Elementals live to be around 120 years old and tend to age slower compared to humans. The higher level elementals also tend to have enhanced speed, healing, sight, smell, strength, and mental control. These enhancement although are not so great that it makes them indestructible. If one high caliber elemental was hit with a bullet in the arm and didn’t take it out the wound would heel within 2 days maximum and naturally push out the bullet. But they can still be killed like any normal elemental or human, it’s just more difficult.
Now an elemental is only born from the partnership of two elementals; it is rare for a human couple or a human and elemental couple to give life to an elemental. So this race generally sticks to its own kind; but having relationships with humans is not off limits or abnormal. Now the personalities of each kind of elemental differ for their personalities are heavily influenced by the traits of their element. For an example, an earth elemental would tend to be a physically and mentally strong person, possibly the most stubborn being anyone would meet, and would hate to be cooped up in a building for long. Also when Pure Earth (woods, lakes, and etc.) is tainted or destroyed these beings become aggravated to the point of insanity. They will unleash their powers out in raw rage and pain towards anyone or anything. It will only lessen once the cause of the destruction or infection is stopped, killed, or the area is restored to order. This further shows the bond that they share with nature. (Personally I wouldn’t mess with a ticked of elemental in that state) There are also rules among their kind. To never destroy the Pure Earth; to always have an appointed representative of each element; to help maintain the order of nature; and to never announce their existence to the entire human race (they knew it was impossible for keeping the secret from every human. Wise ones are they not? lol). There is a long history behind these rules but that is kept secret by the elementals.
And so their roles in mankind’s history is not well known, but they have without a doubt made great impacts on mankind and continue to do so in the current time. Especially now since the existence of each race hangs on the balance, the earth cannot support both, one will reign and the other will fall. It is now up to time and the struggles of each being to determine the result.
Additional Info On More Personal Note:
Most Elementals refer to Nature as Tarin. Usually those that have a stronger bond can actually interact with this "supernatural force". Meaning that they can "feel" what Tarin is feeling and they can sense the flow of Tarin energy when it is strong (These places would be the lakes, forest, and mountains, and such. Not in the city, I repeat not in the city) Lower class elementals can sense the presence of Tarin but hardly can even interact with it. Usually its because they are not as sensitive or that "Tarin" doesn't favor them as some arrogant elementals like to believe.
Now about their diet, they usually stick to vegeterian foods and don't eat very much meat. But if an Elemental does eat more meat than their veggies it wouldn't hurt them or cause negative consequence, its just an common habit that most elementals show.
Now for a religion-wise kind deal... they don't really have one. They are for the most part a realistic race, and don't usually follow a religion. The closest thing to religion that they have is the force of Tarin. They see Tarin as the force from which all things had come from, but the elementals were the first children of this force. Thus is the reasoning on why Elementals can feel the connections of Tarin and humans cannot. ( Remember this is a fictional Role Playing site.
