Darek looked up at the sky above his head, the sun was just beginning to set as he made his way to the police department, though not one to normally make his presence known he knew it to be best if he did this time. Earlier that day Darek had sent a message to the detective named Cas that Zelena had introduced to him only a week ago this day, in the letter it stated that he, Darek, was going to stop by when the sun was setting to have a meeting with her. It did not say what the meeting was for, or why Darek himself was coming, only that he was.
Darek slowly walked up the stairs to the departments doors, slowly opening them and stepping inside. His trench coat like always was around his body, covering all of his body. " I have a meeting with a Detective." Darek said, with a rose in his hand. Darek wanted to look more calm and relaxed, then tense, and it was hard enough with the trench coat and the sunglasses that covered his eyes. " Can you point me to the chiefs daughter now, or at least page her for me, thank you. " Darek said as he waited for the man at the front desk to do as he asked.
While Darek was waiting he took into account all the little details of the department that he could see. Inside his pocket were two tickets to a restaurant that Zelena herself had recommended to him.

Cas sat at her desk looking at the most recent pictures in the case file sitting on the red wood. The door behind her partner’s desk opened and her dad’s head popped out of it. “Cas. Here. Now. “ he said and she raised an eyebrow at the chief. Standing from her desk she stretched her arms over her head. The button down red shirt and black slacks was something she would usually wear if she was out for the day. But once she had gotten to work that day the electric elemental had found the new pictures from a murder that had happened just last night, the killer still out there and at it. Walking to the door she stepped through and shut the door. The man stood looking out the window with his hands behind his back. He was in his gray pinstripe suit which meant him and mom were going out after work that day. Turning he noted her wardrobe and eyed the chair in front of his desk. “Would you just tell me so I can go back to work?” she barked but took the seat anyways. There was no way her dad would have stared at it if he didn’t want her to take it.
“From what I understand there is a man waiting in my lobby.” Cas raised her eyebrow again and the water element continued. “Waiting for you.” The memory of the letter reaching her earlier flashed in her mind. She knew who it was and had no doubt her father did too. “Yeah about that.” She started but he held up a hand halting her words. “Why is he here to see you and why does he have a rose?” the officer just stared at her boss. Yes he was also her father but right now he had done the thing where he somehow manages to put both roles into one. “I’m not sure. I got a letter from her earlier saying he would be meeting me here for some unknown reason.” He just kept looking at her. “But I’m betting the rose means we aren’t staying here. And no that doesn’t mean you can tail me. Mom would never forgive you.” He opened his mouth to protest then closed it again. They just looked at each other for a few minutes then he nodded. “Alright go and meet him them. But I expect a briefing later.” Cas smiled and stood. “Oh Dad. You have nothing to worry about.”
Walking out the door she went over to her desk and put up the file in one of the drawers and then locked it. No reason to allow it to go missing while she was away after all. Glancing around Cas noticed that not many were there anymore. Ignoring that she had stayed late she headed to the lobby and saw tall dark and handsome in the trench coat. “Alright so why did you come here?” she asked her hands sliding into the pockets of the slacks. She really wished she was in more casual clothing like she usually wore if she was just hanging out in the office. But noting that her father said rose perhaps they were going to dinner somewhere and then the nicer clothes would probably be better. Dinner meeting, always her favorite kind to have, he must have learned this trick from Zel. Darek after all was her body guard, so that he was here meeting Cas alone was what really had made her stick around and agree to this, otherwise she probably would have ignored the letter.

Darek waited patiently as he saw Cas go into another office, when he heard her father a small smile crept to his face as he waited patiently at the desk for her. When she walked back into her office he caught sight of her clothes and smiled, well at least one of them was dressed to go out. When she came up to him and went straight to the point Darek couldn't help but laugh.
" Please excuse me." Darek said as he calmed himself. " Are you always so direct?" Darek asked as he held out the rose to her. " If you will," Darek said as he held out his other arm for her. " I promise that you will know everything I am here to talk to you about when we arrive at our dinner reservations. I will tell you that is to both your and my benefit, and that I am not here to waste either of our times. I understand that you and your father are very busy people so whenever you are ready to go Ms. Spinner I would be happy to escort you." Darek said, a small boyish smile coming across his face as he finished.
In Dareks head he was hoping she came with him without asking many questions, but then again that would be boring to him and show that she trusted him more then she should just yet at least. He had been told she was outspoken and very unpredictable. He was hoping for it, predictably after all got you killed. Then as an after thought Darek said, " We could stop at your house first if you would like to get changed, I have dinner reservations for us that is for a place highly recommended to me, though it dose not have the beauty of the place Zelena took both you and your farther out to, I hope that it is still good enough for you." Darek said waiting for any sign she was following him, as he held the door to the police station for her.

Cas raised an eyebrow at the man. He was certainly a bit different from the first time they had met at the meeting with Zelena. The rose was offered to her and she saw the looks from Creg at the front desk. He was trying to hide a smirk and Cas sent a small shock of electricity to him. “Oi!” he exclaimed and rubbed his side. “Then do your job Creg.” She said with a smile and turned her attention back to Darek and his damned rose. Reaching out she took it and felt eyes on the back of her head. She knew her father was snooping while he could, couldn’t blame the guy for being protective of his only child really. “Yes I’m always direct Darek. Beat around the bush too much and it all just gets pointless and more often than not confusing.” He offered her his other arm and she just looked at it. The detective wasn’t one to be escorted around like a lady. Anyone who knew her would know that. But this guy was still basically a stranger to her. “Dinner reservations?” she really wasn’t liking this the more and more he spoke. Glancing at his arm again and again just raised her eyebrow.
“Yes waisting my time would not be the smartest thing.” Her voice was straight and she walked for the door to the station waving at the couple of people who waved to her. “I have more than four cases I’m working on right now and really I should be at home tonight looking over them.” Opening the door the elemental walked out not holding the door for the one behind her. He was a big boy he could take care of himself she was sure. “And if you think I’m getting in a car with you behind the wheel I think you have another thing coming.” Taking the keys from her pocket she headed to the fence that marked where the officers parked their cars. Turning she let her gold eyes fall on the man and study him. “Where are we going to dinner, is it just us, and why do we have a reservation?” she asked knowing that reservation meant nice place for eating. “And who if fitting the bill for this dinner you are dragging me to?” she really wanted to ask about what he needed to talk about but if she just jumped that gun than it would probably just be met with him saying to wait. At least if she was in his shoes it would.
“I’m not high and mighty Darek. A burger at the local diner is just about as classy as I need my shit.” She said and met his eyes her own showing no emotion. Then again, she herself wasn’t so sure of what it was she was supposed to be feeling. Really she was just confused. “And no I’m fine dressed like this thanks.” Granted really she just didn’t want him to know where she lived. Glancing around Cas saw many cars on the street. “Which car is yours?” she asked expecting one of them to be his. Granted he could have walked or driven a cab. Part of her really didn’t want him to ride with her but she wasn’t sure she had any options at the moment. Waiting for him to reply the detective looked down both ways of the road. There were people out but that didn’t mean any of them were safe. She could tell when one was an element by the difference in electrons in their body. Turning back she focused on the man in the trench coat again.

Darek laughed at the remark about him and driving. " I'm not old enough to drive, but do not worry about me driving. I have many other ways to get from place to place. If you forgot my wings." Darek said as he made them wiggle.
Darek then followed behind her turning around and saying good bye to the chief as he left. " I have gotten reservations because less people can get into a fancy restaurant without giving a name and well if you are attacked its always nice to know who was in there with you and where they happened to be sitting. Do you not agree?" Darek asked as he stood by her side. " The reservations are for a Italian restaurant two blocks away from here. And yes we shall be alone, though Zelena dose know that I am here and the reasons for me being here, and has allowed me to do so. But know this is of my own accord, nothing to do with what she wishes." Dantie quickly said as he took out the tickets. " Its already paid for, tip and all. You can get anything on the menu, trust me Zelena dose pay very well even though she dose not have to pay me." Then Darek listened to Cas and sighed.
" I understand we just meet last week Ms. Spinner, and that you do not want the people at work talking, and yes I did catch..Creg I believed you called him, smirk. But believe me, I am here on business and if you do not wish to come with me I shall go off and leave now without another word. But I can garenty you will be one case less if you do come." Dantie said giving a hint to what the meeting was about. " And it would be better if we do not walk into together, I shall be at the restaurant for the next hour, if you decided to come i wouldn't take long deciding for your time is just as important as mine." Darek said and with that he let the light bend around him and he vanished out of existence, as he stepped into a shadow and appeared at the only Italian restaurant within the two block radius of the police department. Reservation for two, under the name Talon." Dantie said as he entered the front door, and pulled out a ticket. The other ticket he had let fall to the ground as he disappeared so that Cas could take t if she wanted it.
Dantie was quickly escorted to a table in the very back with a red silk table cloth on it. " What may I get you to drink sir?" The waiter asked him politely as he went to take Dareks order. " A water will be all. Thank you. " Darek said with no emotion and was rewarded with the waiter leaving to get his drink. The cloak was ticking and the hour had begun.

She didn’t get the point. The point of waiting an hour until she went to the resturaunt. He had left her a ticket for her own seat but Cas wasn’t the most patient person. Getting into the old ’67 impala she sat in the seat. “Alright so now what am I supposed to fuckin do?” she asked her reflection in the review mirror. Sighing she turned the key in the ignition and the engine turned over starting up. Putting the car into drive she drove out of the lot and up the road. “Mine as well go home and change. No reason to be all dressy I guess. Hell he is just a kid after all.” Turning at the light she headed down a dark road until the next light where she was forced to turn again. Didn’t help that her apartment was so far away. She wondered why he used his gift so lightly. The electric rarely used hers if she could help it. Sometimes she couldn’t, but most times she could. “He’s a kid. Let him be dumb.” She told herself turning at another light and going up the road a bit before turning in to a lot in front of an apartment building.
Getting out of the car Cas headed up the stairs and to her apartment. Unlocking the door she went in and turned on the lights. Everything looked in place. Everything but one thing. There was a letter on table. Which meant someone had been in her apartment. She reached over and set her hand on her gun that was at her belt. Walking over she checked the window and it was still locked. Going down the hall to the other rooms she looked in noting they were all empty. Going back to the living room she reached over picking up the letter. It was his handwriting again. “I don’t have time right now Zach. If you would just show your damned face this would be so much easier.” Setting the letter down back where it had been placed Cas went back down the hall and to her room. Turning on the light she turned to her dresser pulling out a pair of black jeans and a red t-shirt. There was no reason to be fancy after all. Changing her clothes she topped it off with combat boots and looked at herself in the mirror. Her hair was going to annoy her being down. She pulled it up into a messy bun and called it good.
It hadn’t been an hour yet but she was tired of waiting. Going back down the stairs and to her car she started it up again and headed toward the restaurant. It wasn’t far from her place but she still wasn’t sure why she was going in the first place. “Because your curiosity got the better of you.” She finally admitted as she parked the car and walked up to the front of the restaurant. Going inside the host stopped her. “Reservation?” she asked looking at her list. “I’m supposed to be meeting someone here.” She said and pulled out the ticket. “Right this way then.” She said and led her to the table where the boy was sitting. Taking her seat she crossed her legs and looked over at Darek. “Alright I’m here, early. Now what do we need to discuss.” Before he could answer though a waiter came up to take her drink order. “Coke please.” She said without asking which products they had. Most places carried coke products nowadays and she just wanted the waiter gone so Darek could answer her.

Darek smilied as he saw Cas walk into the building. When she came to the table Darek stood up waiting for her to sit down, once she had and the waiter was gone Darek took out his watch and said with a grin on his face " I was starting to think you were not coming saying it is only five more minutes to the hour Ms. Spinner. But since your here I am sure you would like to know why I asked for you to come on such strange terms." As Darek talked his hands seemed to move, as if his body and his words were one thing. " You see after the meeting your father, you and Zelena had I came to thinking that it would be very hard for the police department to get any information due to most of the incidents happening where a lot of crime lords are." Darek said as he began talking about the killings. " You see I own a house inside the slums, and I was trained in a similar manner to what they are doing now with the young ones." Again Darek hands seemed to keep in constant motion until the waiter came back with Cas's Coke. " May I get you anything else?" the waiter asked the two of them and Darek indicated for Cas to go first, always being the perfect gentleman as he was taught to.

Her certainly wasn’t kidding when he said he wanted to talk. He said a lot before she could get a word in. An eyebrow raised when he mentioned the crime lords and slums. It wasn’t that hard a thing for the cops to get in there. It was why they had undercover cops and plain clothes detectives. When the waiter came back Cas realized she hadn’t looked at her menu yet listening to what the other elemental had to say. There was no way to get rid of the waiter until they ordered either. Opening the menu she spotted something she could stand to stomach currently. Though in all honesty she wasn’t all that hungry, the electric didn’t have much on the lines of an appetite lately. “I’ll take a BLT with fries.” She said to the waiter and closed the menu. Reaching out with her right hand, instinctively leaving her gun hand free, Cas picked up her coke and took a sip. Yup it was cola, nothing to fret about.
Most of the city knew her as a cop on site. She didn’t really bother hiding the fact that she was a detective even though she was often in plain clothes. Though most if not all of them didn’t know she was an elemental. Hell half of her squad if not more didn’t even know. Glancing around she noted that no one was really watching them and no one was taking more than an occasional glance. Nothing that could be seen as suspicious. But the electric was a cop before she was a civilian and she could never see the kid in front of her as anything more than a civilian, he was in her care now, as odd as that was as she was talking about a bodyguard for her leader. But it hardly mattered. Darek ordered his food and the waiter went to put the order in leaving the two to themselves again. Cas took another sip of her coke and put the glass down her eyes going across the table to meet Darek’s.
“You would be surprised how many we already have down in that scene Darek.” She said knowing that he didn’t know everything that the cops did just like Zelena didn’t. The police weren’t on a side, they didn’t have a leader besides the government. They just ran the city making sure that it ran as it should. So because of that none of the leaders always knew everything that the police were running, always made it more interesting when they found out later that was for sure. “So what do you think you could do to help that an undercover couldn’t do?” After all the police had training in blending in. All she could know of this kid was that he could make himself vanish in light. A neat trick, she remembered seeing it a lot growing up. But that wouldn’t help them gather information that only someone in close and personal and who they thought they could trust could get.

Darek waited as Cas ordered her food, watching as he saw her keep her gun hand free. Once she had completed her order Darek then looked at the waiter and said " Burger rare with fries please." And when the waiter was gone before he could even speak Cas was already talking.
" I am never surprised. Surprises get you dead." Darek said plainly as he took in what she said to him. " I own property in the slums and have, well made my appearance well known in the slums after a small incident a few days back. I'm sure your department was called in on it." Darek put bluntly as he referred to the small gang he had eliminated that had been attacking Elizabeth only a few days before. " Because I am known there now and live there I can find out much more stuff then any undercover cop. Unlike many of your police officers I have no worry about them attacking my home, I quite look forward to it. I have actually planed it myself to catch them all." Darek laughed as he thought of how those little children would fall prey to his trap. " With me living there just like you I hear many of the story's going on, and many people will loosen there tongues to me knowing I do not follow the same rules as an enforcer of the law. So they will talk and when I say talk I mean tell me everything they know." Darek once again let a small smile escape his face. " I offer you my services on finding these killers so that all of us may be safer. Add in the fact that I know who there next target is, I thought it might strengthen your trust in me if I offered my assistance to you." Darek finished letting all he said sink in as he picked up his drink and began to drink.

She took a drink and waited while he spoke. So it was her trust he was seeking. That wasn’t an easy thing to gain and frankly what he was asking of her wasn’t really for her to decide. It was up to her father. If he wanted in he was taking the wrong person to dinner. Though she could see where some of his points were validated that didn’t mean she wanted a kid on the job. Looking him over while he spoke she studied him. He was so sure of himself it seemed. And he seemed almost desperate to want to help, determined he can do better than her cops she already had on scene. Then again, that wasn’t a surprise either. Most everyone thought they could do better than the cops when it came to undercover work and on some cases that was true. But this one she wasn’t so sure on. The electric elemental was iffy trusting anyone out of her precinct with cop business. When he ended with the offer she wasn’t in the least bit surprised, it was what she had figured was going to happen after all.
Taking another drink of her coke she waited. It had all been processed in her mind but she wasn’t one to just give in to stuff. She was about to answer when their food was brought out. Good timing on the service, she hoped the tip that was already taken care of covered that. Looking at her food she smiled and her stomach tightened. She knew she was hungry. Thankfully it didn’t growl like it sometimes chose to do at odd times. She already knew her answer she was going to give him, but food was required first. Picking up a couple of fries she ate them. They tasted really good. It wasn’t every day that she got to eat out at a place like this. Fast food was usually what she ate the most if not home cooked stuff. She did enjoy cooking whenever she got the time to, but that wasn’t often sadly. Taking a bite from her sandwich she waited till she was done to finally look at Darek again.
“I’m not sure what you hoped to gain by coming to me about this. I’m not the one who makes the decisions.” She took a drink of her coke and then another bite of her sandwich while she thought of what else to say to the boy. “My father is the one that you would need to ask if you can help though I can pretty much tell you that he won’t accept the help.” She took another sip and then looked around surveying the area out of instinct. “He doesn’t like civilians being in the line of fire.” Which was the truth. Frankly, no matter what the kid said she didn’t want his help because that was what he was, a kid. Not to mention he was Zelena’s personal body guard. Not like she was going to take him from one job to put him on another. If the leader wanted to put the boy’s life at risk that was on her, there was no way Cas was going to have that on her head though. And if he did approach her father with this she hoped he saw it the same way he always would involving a civilian and not take in that he is an elemental. No matter what it could still get him killed.

Darek's eyes glowed a dangerous color his normal sunglasses off showing the milky white eyes that he hid from the rest of the world. There gaze was on Cas now. " Well then Ms. Spinner I guess I shall be seeing your father tomorrow. Enjoy your meal." And with that Darek got up and began to walk away, furry in his mind.
Darek had seen the way he was looking at her, as if he was nothing more then a child in a grown up world. " Civilians live by the laws of government Ms. Spinner. " Darek said as he turned in his spot, almost knocking over a waiter in the process with his Trench coat. " I do not. " and with that Darek made his way outside to the door. And thats when he saw them. The agents who had been following him since he left the police station. " Poor fools. May the great mother have mercy on you for I have none." Darek said to himself as he turned down an ally. If she thinks me a child then let her see the child and how much of a killer he is. A well designed machine whos only purpose is to kill and serve Zelena." And with that Darek clocked himself in shadow. This is how he would launch his assault he thought as he unsheathed his two tofa blades that he had hidden inside his trench coat the whole time.

She seemed to have upset him but Cas didn’t know how to fix it or what to do about it. The way he stormed out still reminded her of a child asking for attention with a temper tantrum. But she also found that the words he spoke were actually true. That he was now going to be paying her father a visit could be good or bad. Her father wasn’t a patient man though perhaps he would see Darek as he was, not a boy but an elemental. Someone who was fighting this war with them no matter his age. Cas took a drink of her soda but found she didn’t really want to just sit there alone and eat. She asked for the food to be packed up in to go containers so she could take it home and eat it. She had case files waiting to be reviewed by her, but she also knew she needed to make sure she got sleep tonight too. Tomorrow was going to be a long day just like today had been. Taking another drink of her coke she pulled out her cell phone and dialed a number. Her father’s voicemail clicked on and she sighed. He was probably already in bed sleeping.
“Hey dad.” She said into the mouthpiece. “Letting you know that you’ll probably have a visitor sometime soon in the form of Zelena’s body guard.” That was all she said before hanging up and putting it back in her pocket. The waiter came back with the boxed food and Cas took it with a thanks and left. Her car was up the road a bit and she thought she heard some fighting but just ignored it. She was always thinking she was hearing things nowadays. Walking to her car she slid the key in the door and twisted it to unlock the vintage car. Sliding in she put her food on the passenger seat and sat there for a minute. Was she too quick to turn the kid away? No. She didn’t think so. But than again the fact she was second guessing herself meant that she actually did think so. Perhaps she could try to get a hold of him before he called her father, granted she had no clue how to do that.
Sighing she put the key in the ignition and turned it so that the engine roared to life. Closing the door she pressed in the clutch and put the car into gear. Slowly she pulled forward until she was starting to head down the road pretty determined that home would be her destination but knowing if she wasn’t careful she was going to be heading down to the slums to look for Darek and perhaps hear more of what he had to say. Really that wasn’t a bad idea to begin with. No. She shook her head knowing that wasn’t smart. That was asking for trouble. She would just wait until he spoke with her father and go with what the old man said. The elemental knew her father would make the right choice even if it was one she wouldn’t have agreed with. It wasn’t her right to go against the chief on decisions, that was what got you on unpaid leave even if you were the man’s daughter.

Darek was in full swing as the agents came into his world of darkness that was like an extra dimension that only Darek could control. As they came in Darek went low to the floor waiting for them to get a little closer. And just as expected the agents did, in one smooth cut he took three of the four agents out with a clean slash to the throat. The last one was cut beneath the knees. The agent let lose a tirade of bullets from his silenced hand gun, but all were embed in a brick wall. " To bad for you I don't rely on bullets to capture my enemy's isn't it." Dareks pure white eyes looked into the agents as if a demon coming out of the abyss. And then the agent fell as darek knocked him unconscious. He then lifted the man up and through him through a shadow that teleported him to where the police station was. Cas would know who had done it, if no one else did. And with that Darek went back to his Ace. She would love to hear how...the meeting went.

(lol so rereading your post I'm not sure a reply is needed as Cas went home not to the station....but I'll go ahead and post a little something I suppose.)
Cas managed to park her car in her slot in front of her apartment just as her phone rang. Looking at the number she recognized it as the station. Sighing the elemental opened her phone. “We have a random guy unconscious laying on our doorstep.” Came her partner’s voice on the other end of the phone. “I’ll deal with it after a couple hours of sleep Harold.” She heard him laugh on the other end of the phone. “Put him in a holding cell I’ll be in one.” She closed the phone and trekked up the stairs to her apartment. Unlocking the door she opened it and locked it behind her to go to bed till she had to go deal with a random unconscious man on their station steps. Though something told her it wasn’t really random.

It was just a few minutes before the evening began when Darek finally had a free moment of his own time. " Time to go pay the chief a visit." Darek said as he picked up his cell phone and called 911.
" 911 what is your emergency." Came the man on the other end of the line. " I need to speak with the chief of police, tell him that it is Darek Von Cleft. The young man who spoke with his daughter yesterday." Darek said before he heard the man ask him to hold. Figures they would have crappy music on for the hold tone, Darek laughed as he waited for the chief of police to answer his phone.
Once he did Darek wasted no time and before the chief could say anything Darek said "Don't shoot." before shadow stepping into the chiefs office. " Sorry for the intrusion Mr. Spinner, but as I'm sure you are well aware your daughter and I went out to eat and I offered her a business propersition. She declined saying that only you had the power to approve...." Darek then thought better of himself and said to the chief of police, " Sorry about the unannounced popping in, normally I do not make a habit of phasing into other peoples buildings without there consent, but since I was on the other side of the city and needed to get here quickly before my time expired for the day I made a quick decision. If it caused you any problem I am deeply sorry."
Darek then feel silent as he felt another presence open the door behind him. Knowing he was in the police department though did nothing to calm his nerves and he quickly spun on the person, only to be caught off guard by the person who had just entered the room.

“Spinner” the commander said as he picked up his phone just before someone appeared in his office. “God almighty!” he called out and went for the desk drawer that housed his gun while he was in the office. But when he finally got over the shock of it he saw that it was the boy from when he met with Zelena with his daughter. “Darek right?” he said his voice cautious. “I’d appreciate it if you didn’t do that again. My office is meant to be used as an office which means next time you can enter through the door just like everyone else.” When the mention of the date came up an eyebrow rose on the Chief’s face. “Yes I was informed of what you wanted from my daughter last night.” He said and watched the elemental in front of him. He could understand why his daughter declined his offer, she was protective of anyone that didn’t have training. But the boy was an elemental, that meant he wasn’t some helpless civilian like she probably thought.
“I understand you want to help out with the investigation of one of the crime lords in the slums.” He went quiet for a bit thinking of what to do. Technically without training he should tell Darek no in the help area. But then again he also knew that none of his men were really all that trained to be in the slums. Yes he had an officer there now but that didn’t mean they were doing a good job. Currently they were having to prove they weren’t a cop by serving some time in one of the cells for getting caught on a raid the night before. Cas hadn’t known about that till she got in late last night and she wasn’t too happy. Thankfully he hadn’t had to deal with her. Though her partner is going to deserve a raise at this rate. He had yet to ask for a new partner or to be transferred completely. Still deep in his thought he didn’t notice until it was opening that his door was opening. Snapping out of it he saw Cas in the door just as the lad turned to stare at her.
Cas froze looking at Darek and her father. Had they been discussing letting the kid work on the force for that investigation. “I was told to come and see you once I got here Chief.” She said her eyes going to Darek and darkening a bit. She wasn’t very happy to see him standing there. She had told him to not bother but she guessed the kid couldn’t take a hint! “What are you doing here?” she hissed as she walked into the office and closed the door behind her. No one had told her that her father was with someone else which meant they probably didn’t know. “And how did you get here? We aren’t known elementals to the entire squad!” her voice was harsh but she was too frustrated to really care. He risked them both by just popping in and out of the station. “Calm down Cas. He and I already discussed that part.” Her father said and she turned those golden eyes to him. “You aren’t really going to let him are you?” she asked and took a seat in one of the chairs.
Her father was quiet for a bit but finally he nodded. “We need someone who can do it right Cas. He isn’t some human out there wanting to help. He is our blood.” He paused and saw the anger rise in Cas’ face. “And he is already well trained. He wouldn’t be bodyguard to Zelena if he wasn’t at that.” Cas bit her tongue trying to stop the reaction she wanted to give. Her father had a point but that didn’t mean she had to like it. But he was the Chief and so made the decisions. Turning to Darek she let that dark stare stay on him. She wasn’t happy with him. Mine as well let him know. Then again the guy probably already did. “How old are you anyways?” she asked trying to be civil and hoping she wasn’t totally failing at this point. Glancing at her father she noticed he was curious about the kid’s age too.

" Yes sir." Darek said as the chief asked his name. Then he listened intently on what the chief had to say about popping in. " I'm sorry but as I'm sure you are well aware it would have taken more then and hour to get here otherwise, and well I don't think you would like another body in your alleyway." Darek smirked as the chief began to Daze off. Darek was not used to being the one intimidated, but as being the intimidator, so he found it odd that Cas's father had such an effect on him.
When the door finally opened Dareks eyes began to shine, and if not for the sunglasses he always had over his eyes it would be very apparent he was happy to see Cas again, that is of course until she began to talk. He admired her concern, but babying him did not make him happy. Baby a child who had survived in the wilderness alone for 3 years. He thought not. When both her and her father were done arguing and Cas asked how old he was a blank cold stare came over his face. " Age is only a number, and one you would not be happy to here. But if you must know I am 18. And before you go on babying me like I am a child Cassandra Spinner remember this, what you are trying to do now I;'m sure your father wanted to do to you when you joined the force, but he didn't now did he? I am no child and I have been raised fighting the agency and born for the mission I take on. If I was not fit for a task I would not ask to take it on. " Darek said speaking to both Cas and her father now. " I was born to two highly skilled individuals who had much money and much to gain. They taught me all they knew before the agency caught us. I escaped because of that training, they died. And I have survived on my own for more years then you can imagine on my own. " Then Darek turned to Cas's father to prove a point. " Do you remember a few years back a gun store being blown up and two agency squads were killed inside the building blowing up. That was me as a child. My powers have only gotten better since then." Darek said, and thats when he threw down his ace, showing his whole hand " And without me you don't know where they are going to hit next. With me I can guarantee that if they are not in your custody, they will be dead." Darek finished with a cold expression on his face. No emotions showed on his face for he had to hide his anger at how Cas made him feel so small and insignificant, and yet he loved it about her. The tender care she wished to give everyone.

Her eye twitched, she couldn’t help it or stop it. “Cassandra?” she said her voice low. Her father eyed her and then Darek and he stood. “Cas.” His voice was a warning but she ignored him. “Cassandra? Who the hell do you think you are?” Cas got out of the chair she had been sitting in and walked over to Darek. She hadn’t noticed he was so much more taller than her until that moment and she honestly really couldn’t care. She got up in his face certainly invading it and making it far too personal. “My name is not Cassandra. It never has been nor will it ever be. Cas is not short for anything.” Her father put his face in his hand. She had gotten picked on all her life about her name and so it always put her on edge. Her father knew this of course Darek did not. “Before you go around assuming names make sure you know the person’s name.” she took a half step back still rather close to him. “As for me on the force and you on the force I went through training. I have a RIGHT to be here." Oh yeah she was pissed. It didn’t happen often but he was really damn good at pushing her buttons.
“Age is not just a number. You wanna be a cop?” her voice darkened. “Then go to the training. All the rest of us did at your age.” Finally she turned and her eyes set on her father. “You encouraging him is ridiculous!” she nearly yelled. Her father lifted his face from his hand and raised a brow at her. “Cas I am Chief here not you. If the boy can be of use…” he paused and looked at Darek. “And yes I use the term boy. You are barely legal.” After that her turned his attention back to Cas. “Then I will let him help.” Cas opened her mouth to protest but her father held up his hand. “No Cas.” His voice was firm and it said that the discussion was over. When Darek brought up the case about the two agency squads the Chief nodded. “It was the first investigation I put Cas to actually.” He commented and looked at his daughter. She was standing there not looking at either of them just looking at the wall. He could visibly see the lightning sparks that zapped centimeters from her finger tips. Oh yes she was upset. He knew she would be once he made his decision of course Darek messing up her name had just metaphorically added fuel to the fire.
“Cas.” Her father said but she still refused to look at him. She didn’t know why she got so upset with Darek for wanting to do what she had wanted all her life to do. She did however know why she was upset with her father. She had expected him to be on her side on this and yet here he was doing the exact opposite. “Detective.” Her eyes shifted to the right so that she could see her father. “You may go. I know you have case files to look over. And don’t forget the Agent that was deposited on our door last night. He is still in need of questioning.” She didn’t move or say anything. She feared if she moved her next thought would actually make the entire building short circuit. Finally with a nod she brushed passed the man who had caused her to get so upset and opened the door. It closed shut behind her after she took one last glance at Darek, her yellow gold eyes seeming to glow in her frustration. “You’ll have to forgive her.” The Chief said and sat back down in his chair. There wasn’t a lot for him to do but something Darek had said needed to be answered.
“You are wrong my dear boy.” The Chief said and clasped his hands together setting his elbows on the desk. His chin rested on his hands and his crystal blue eyes looked tired. “Not once did I ever think to try to keep her out of this life.” He paused and closed his eyes remembering Cas as a child always playing cops and robbers and always being the cop. “From the time she was a child she wanted to follow me in the line of duty and I encouraged her. She got top scores in everything when she went to the academy. Anyone would have loved to have her on their force but she wanted to stay with me.” He opened his eyes again looking straight at Darek. “I understand you can take care of yourself and I’m sure she does too. But she has lost many friends to this life. Some younger than you others older. It’s just the way this life is. It made her…” he paused searching for the word. “It has made her value life of those that aren’t cops. She doesn’t like to put any of them in danger if she can help it.”

Darek did not back down as Cas got into his face and began to yell at him, quite the opposite, he yearned for it for it was the one time she treated him like an equal. As she went on her tirade Darek stood calmly in front of her, as she got close to the end and began to turn and yell at her father Darek reached out to her, as if to hold her hand, but at the last moment took it back, not quickly though for he felt the zap of electricity from her finger tips as it went through his body and into the ground beneath his feet.
Darek did not move as the electricity went through him, though he much wished to, he did not like the stuff that much, it messed his jumping up. Then Darek smiled at Cas as her own father told her his handiwork and a big grin broke out across his face as he looked towards Cas, but she was not looking at him, instead at a wall.
As Cas left a longing to stop her filled him, but yet again he let it subside inside of him. Once she had left the room and Cas's father was finished Darek sighed and took a seat in the chair opposite him. " I'm going to do something I don't normally do, but only for you to completely understand the gravity of what I say." Darek said before he reluctantly took of his sunglasses revealing his piercing white eyes, that though were blind in there own way, showed him more then anyone else eyes could. " I have feelings for your daughter, as I'm sure you got from both of our previous encounters with the flowers Mr. Spinner." Darek paused to let what he said slip into the mans head before continuing. " And I hold no anger against her for what she has just done for she had every right to do so, but this test she speaks of...it seems a wise choice for me to take it so that she stops seeing me as a child, and respects your decision even more." Darek then got up and put back on his glasses. " I hope you do not take my words lightly sir, for as you have seen I do not like being treated as a child, though I do now understand why she acts the way she dose. I only have an hour a day of free time, but until I pass this test completely this is my number so that you can reach me at any time so I know when you have free time for me to go through your training." Darek then opened the door to the chiefs office and asked " Would it be ok if I asked who my partner is on this case. If so I would like it to be your daughter. " Darek said then as an after thought said " And they are attacking my home next, there will be much the same bloodshed that happened at my parents guns shop. I have the place rigged and no one will be able to get anywhere near it without me knowing. It is your choice whether you wish to follow this or not. If so you know my number." Darek said as he waited for the answer to his first question.

She was fuming. Of course her dad knew she would if he picked to do this. And still he chose to do it! She sat down in her desk with a huff and turned to the computer. She had so much she needed to do but she didn’t want to do it now. How could the kid come to her father? She hadn’t actually thought that he would even when she said that the decision would be up to her father. And then have her father side with him! That was not what she thought he would do if she gave him a heads up. Sighing she turned to one of the file folders on her desk and flipped it open. She was met with photos of the last murder that had happened only a few nights ago. “He isn’t ready for this stuff.” She said out loud to herself. Granted his story said otherwise. He was raised in the slums basically. Where fights and murders were always happening. --- “You want to take the test?” the Chief asked not at all surprised. He had seen the way Darek had made to hold Cas’ hand. But it was the confession that sealed it all. Of course the boy would have something for his daughter. He had noticed it at their first meeting and was the main reason that he had picked on her so much when she said she had dinner with him. But the father was still distracted by the site of his eyes. Pure white. Not something that was normal in the least. “I am glad you hold no anger with her Darek.” He said his voice cautious. “She has a tongue, my girl, but she does her job well.” He made sure to emphasis the my girl part reminding Darek that yes, Cas was his daughter. He wouldn’t let go of her easy. Besides he wasn’t sure any man would ever meet his standards for his daughter.
He studied Darek as his sunglasses were placed back over his eyes. “The test is not simple.” He said finally remembering the months of training Cas went through to be able to pass both the written and physical tests. “Technically you should have to go to the academy so that you can learn the classes for the written final. But as you are not wanting to be a cop I don’t see the reason for that.” He paused and placed his hands on his desk needing to get to work but also seeing that speaking to the boy was a good thing. He was after all interested in his daughter. “An hour a day?” he comment surprised. “That will make it a bit more complicated but I can at least give you the training needed and the physical test. Though I’ll have to ask others for help.” He smiled and shook his head. “I’ll leave Cas out of it.” It was a side thought. Surely Darek wouldn’t want her to know until he passed. --- The door to her father’s office opened just a bit and she was able to hear what was going on inside. Darek asked if Cas would be her partner. She startled surprised by that. Of course hearing that they were attacking his home next made her almost stand out of her chair. Growling she forced herself to sit back down. He could be wrong after all. How would he know they are going for him? “Yes I know your number. And if Cas will accept the challenge than yes I’ll assign her as your partner.” With that this time she did stand up her hand slamming into her desk. “I have a partner.” She said knowing they could hear her. "Harold is on vacation right now and you know it.” Her father’s voice came. She opened her mouth to protest her usual protest but she hear a sound, like waves on the ocean. “Yes sir.” She said and sat back down not wanting to look at Darek now.
