History: Solaris was, in all respects, a determined child growing up. He lived in an average middle class family, with his older brother Eclipsis as his role model. They played sports together, and held a strong sibling rivalry that exceeded most. But they loved each other none the less. On Solaris's seventh birthday, he got lost in the woods near their house. His brother searched on into the night to find him, and was infact, the one to succede. Afterwards, the two were inseperable.
By the age of sixteen, Solaris had begun to display odd characteristics. He had always been extremely calm and careful. Nobody ever saw him lose control or break something unless it was through one of those rare outbursts of anger. But those were becoming more and more frequent lately, and the social butterfly that was always surrounded by people withdrew into himself. The only other human being he spoke to was his brother, and from an outsider's point of view, it appeared as though they were keeping a dirty little secret.
And indeed they were.
"Soul! Why don't you join in the fun?" Colin called out, his breath coming in short pants and his sweat dampened hair stuck to face messily. Another boy, whom Solaris didn't know had been sparring with his friend, having a nice time out in the woods. Soul had been content to watch them and avoid having to have physical contact with them, but after a while Colin had gotten bored with the college student. What was his name again? He shrugged the thought from his mind and looked at his friend in dismay. "I don't like feel up to it man." He murmured, looking down at his hands. He flexed them a couple times, feeling the power they possessed. The power he possessed.
But Colin wasn't one to give up what he wanted so easily and quickly grabbed his hand to pull him away from the hood of the car that he had been sitting upon. "You're going to spar with me. Since this prick over here can't seem to fight worth shit." Colin made a gesture towards the other guy who was quietly studying his cellphone. The girl in the back seat of his car was sleeping off her alcohol from the party they had all ben to a while before.
Solaris looked at him, the uneasiness he felt about the situation being projected towards the other teen. He was drunk. They both were, but Soul held his liquor better. "Come oooooooon you fucking ass. Or are you to much of a fucking wuss to fight me? Oh great Solaris, with his many many girlfriends and amazing buddies! He has everything. he can do anything! But he can't even fight me." Colin shouted, holding his arms out as if to embrace the world. He waited a few more moments, staring his friend down, waiting for him to make the move that would initiate the fight. But Solaris didn't move an inch, he merely stood there, his features betraying the fear he felt inside. He couldn't fight his best friend. It wouldn't be right. What if he hurt him?
Colin whistled, and turned towards the car, walking towards it purposefully. "What are you doing Colin?" Solaris said, his voice hoarse from the anxiety that gripped him. No answer. Then the screech of metal filled the air, and following it was the muffled screech of the girl in the back seat. Colin had yanked her out of the vehicle and slammed her against the car, pressing his body against her. She cried out in pain as his weight on top of her limited the air she was allowed to breath and the handle of the passengers door dug into her back. Solaris started forward, angry but was grabbed from behind and held in a vice like grip. The college boy was awake. And again, Soul wondered what his name was, but confusion was tainting his thoughts and keeping him from reacting the way he should have.
